1st Regional WfW Conference "Partnerships for Achieving the Water and Sanitation Millennium Development Goals in the EECCA region" will take place from 4 to 6 November 2007Women for Water partnership (WfW), All Ukrainian environmental nongovernmental Organization "MAMA-86" and WECF invite women NGOs from the EECCA region to participate in the 1st Regional WfW Conference "Partnerships for Achieving the Water and Sanitation Millennium Development Goals in the EECCA region", that will take place from 4 to 6 November 2007 in Kyiv, Ukraine. Leading into the 2008 UN International Year of Sanitation, the 1st WFW Regional Working Conference aims to contribute to create effective partnerships between civil society, business and authorities to increase access to safe and affordable water and sanitation in the CEE and EECCA countries. In the Conference NGOs from Armenia, Byelorussia, Bulgaria, Germany, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, the Netherlands, Romania, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, guests from WfW partners NGOs from Zimbabwe, the Ukrainian authorities, Water and Sanitation experts, representatives of International organizations and donors will participate. The 1st Regional WFW Conferences gives the members of the WfW Partnership an effective mechanism to develop cooperation with other sectors and build capacity to work efficiently on solving local water and sanitation problems in order to implement the MDGs on water & sanitation and the right to water. The 1st Regional WfW Conference will be focus on discussion of the case studies on water and sanitation problems in the countries of the Region, where the WfW partners are working now, exchange of experience between NGOs — Members and Non-Members of WfW partnership. The outcomes of the Conference will be presentation of the results of first A4A projects in the region, lessons learned, new Country Cases Studies for future cooperation and implementation.
