October 3, 2013, Nova Kakhovka, Kherson Oblast — An activity within the Green Consumer Week’2013 “Environment on Your Plate” campaign at General Education School #3 was a workshop for 9th grade students on phyto tea making – “Meds around Us.”

October 2, 2013, Kyiv — MAMA-86 in conjunction with the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center and the Kyiv Minor Academy of Sciences organized a meeting/lecture with the academy’s students. Representatives from the NGO told about environmental problems related to food production and consumption.

October 1–2, 2013, Nova Kakhovka, Kherson Oblast — Sixth-grade students of General Education School #3 planted, on the school plot, medicinal plants purchased the previous day during an excursion of their senior mates to the Botanic Arboretum in the village of Michurino. The activities were carried out within the framework of the Global Green Action Week and the Green Consumer Week’2013 campaign “Environment on Your Plate.”

October 2, 2013, Khmelnytsky — The MAMA-86 Khmelnytsky branch in collaboration with the Organic Farming Club and the Khmelnytsky Oblast Universal Scientific Library organized and conducted a round table on “Organic Production Development Prospects in the Khmelnytsky Region.”

October 1, 2013, Poltava — The Poltava Center for Children’s & Juniors’ Clubs hosted a seminar on “Sustainable Food Basics” initiated for 15 instructors of such clubs by MAMA-86-Poltava within the framework of the Global Green Action Week and the Green Consumer Week’2013 campaign “Environment on Your Plate.”

September 30, 2013, Sevastopol — Representatives from civil society organizations, public authorities and businesses gathered at the round table on “Eco-friendly Foods: Opportunities for Sevastopol” to discuss how to improve access of the city’s residents and guests to healthy and environmentally friendly food. Organized and carried out by MAMA-86 Sevastopol and the Sevastopol City State Administration Public Council Committee for Environment and Life Safety, the event was held within the framework of the Global Green Action Week and the Green Consumer Week’2013 campaign “Environment on Your Plate.”

September 30, 2013, Feodosia, Crimea — Students’ conference on “Sustainable Food & Organic Farming” was held at the Feodosia Polytechnic Institute of the Admiral Makarov National Shipbuilding University. The city’s environmental NGO “MAMA-86-Feodosia,” the institute and the Crimean Republican Association “Ecology and the World” organized the event within the framework of the Global Green Action Week as part of the Green Consumer Week’2013 campaign “Environment on Your Plate.”

September 30, 2013, Nova Kakhovka, Kherson Oblast — Students of all 16 classes of General Education School #3 along with their parents held an event they called “Alternative Candies,” at which they not only learned about healthy and environment-friendly candies but also regaled with sweets made with their own hands. Nova Kakhovka Mayor Volodymyr Kovalenko was one of the sweet feast’s guests.

September 29, 2013, Kyiv — The tea-party “Your Yummiest Jam Day!” was carried out in the Art Picnic of Slava Frolova pavilion at the Expocenter of Ukraine. It was organized for all comers by MAMA-86, the Mystic Masala club and the host within the framework of the Green Consumer Week “Environment on Your Plate” and the Global Green Action Week.
