caption17 Jan. 2014, Kyiv — UNENGO “МАМА-86” has uploaded to YouTube a lecture “Reducing of Negative Impact of Droughts on Crop Yield by using Natural Self-Restoration Process” in a framework of the online course “Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) under Conditions of Climate Change: Ukraine’s Experience.”

The lecture is presented by Mykhailo Zakharchenko, PhD, Head of the Laboratory, Ukrainian Scientific Research Institute of Ecological Problems.

The goal of the lecture is to review the process of deteriorating state of arable lands in Ukraine in a historical aspect and also ways of improving of soil resistance in the periods of drought.

The online course has been founded by the Global Water Partnership (GWP)-Ukraine under support of the GWP of Central and Eastern Europe in May 2013. It is aimed at advancing of the IWRM theory and practice under conditions of adapting to extraordinary natural phenomena in Ukraine and demonstration of achievements of Ukraine’s water sector professionals in order to spread their experience in Ukraine and abroad, first of all, to GWP colleagues in the regions of Central and Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia. That is why the course is presented in Russian with English subtitles.
