 On 23rd – 24th of December, 2008 MAMA-86 organized the workshop in the frame of People’s Eco-Life Project. The workshop was focused on the project results achieved and designing the concept of demonstrative-informational centre on the basis of eco-settlement.
Representatives of regional organizations of MAMA-86 network and specially invited resource persons participated in the workshop.
The main goal of the event was to design eco-settlement concept that should be obvious example of application of environmentally friendly technologies for households. Therefore, the following questions were discussed during the first workshop day:
- Aspects of eco-settlement organization and its functioning,
- Specifics of environmental construction and architecture,
- Peculiarities of eco-houses and energy efficient houses,
- Application of environmentally friendly technologies for housing and creation of healthy inside environment,
- Issues of environmentally friendly activities within eco-settlement,
- Organic agriculture as one of key elements of balanced eco-settlement developing.
The second day of the workshop was focused on results of local surveys carried out from November 14 till December 15, 2008 within People’s Eco-Life Project by regional organizations of MAMA-86 network. These surveys helped to collect and analyze the information on existing environmental problems in different regions of Ukraine, application of environmentally friendly technologies to solve these problems and improving environment, and also on organizations and companies that work in eco-technologies field.
