On 25 May a meeting of the Steering Committee of the National Policy Dialogue (NPD) on Integrated Water Resources Management in Tajikistan was held in Dushanbe.

The NPD Steering Committee meeting decided to finalize a Water Sector Reform Strategy for irrigation, drainage and drinking water in Tajikistan in October 2012, agreed to establish a task force on legal issues to revise the Water Code. Access to safe drinking water, in particular in rural areas was on the agenda of the Meeting. New project on targets setting to the Protocol on Water and Health supported by the Norwegian Government was launched during the Meeting.

More than 60 representatives of national authorities, international organizations and other partners and stakeholders took part in the meeting. Representatives of Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan were invited to present their experience NPD IWRM in their respective countries.
