European Youth Days of Water in Strasburg
From the 18th till the 21st of October 2005 the European youth days of water in the frame of the Week of water solidarity took place in Strasbourg. Three representatives of "ÌÀÌÀ-86" — Vika Bormotova, who was a participant of the Water Youth Parliament in Stara Zagora (2003), Valentina Savchenko and Viktoria Ureskul, members of Danube Parliament (2005) took part in this activity.
There are 22 representatives from 10 European countries took part in European Youth Water Days: Austria, Bulgaria, Germany, Spain, Moldova, Romania, Slovenia, Sweden, France, and Ukraine. These young people were representatives from educational institutions, NGOs, youth organizations and clubs, who took part in the work of six Youth Water Parliaments, the last was held this year in Romania and was dedicate to the Danube river.
The program included such activities as:
Excursions to the Danube, and to the ruins of the oldest bathhouse, meeting with local authorities. On the 19th of October there was a meeting "Democracy and participation of the youth…" where young people were informed about the existing programs for youth "Education for democracy" www.coe.int/edc, www.coe.int/eyce. On the 20th of October the work of the 6 th European Youth Water Parliament was summarized. And the final document "Call for actions" was developed.
It was decided:
- To complete and to present the last version of "Call for actions" in January 2006;
- To create a site and a forum for communications and information of the participants of the meeting concerning plans of the continuation of the work on the Danube topics;
- To create a net on the base of Yahoo;
- To carry a project of the document for the Forum in Mexico.
