“Dnipro as Seen by Children” Project Presentation

On November 30, 2002 the presentation of the “Dnipro as Seen by Children” Project results was held in the Center for Children and Youth of Pechersk district of Kyiv city. During the presentation the children's drawing competition winners were awarded with prizes, diplomas, certificates and calendars. About 200 people attended the presentation, including 60 children — competition winners and laureates, their parents, representatives of public and NGOs, journalists.

The following speakers greeted the audience :

• L. Grinkevych — Coordinator of the “Dnipro as Seen by Children” Project;
• L. Basanska — Executive Director of “ĚŔĚŔ-86”;
• S. Pchelina — NGO Coordinator of the UNDP-GEF Dnipro Basin Environment Program;
• O. Dronova — IDRC Administration Manager;
• O. Novikov — Voting Committee Chairman.

Guests of the presentation had a chance to see the competition winners and laureates' drawings on a large screen where they were projected from the slides. After the official presentation, the guests could socialize in a non-formal atmosphere, with soft drinks and refreshments.

The report of the “Dnipro as Seen by Children” Project presentation was published in two national media (newspapers “Day” and “Sevodnya”).
