International Water Forum "AQUA Ukraine — 2005"NGO "MAMA-86" together with Ukrainian Water Association in the framework of International Water Forum "Aqua Ukraine — 2005" held on the 6th of October 2005 a seminar "Water, Sanitation and Hygiene for all in Ukraine" (WASH in Ukraine) and training "Ecological Sanitation is a New Approach to the Wastewaters management". For the second time "Water, Sanitation and Hygiene for all in Ukraine" gathered 98 representatives of different stakeholders: Ukrainian Parliament (Verhovna Rada), Ministry of Economy and European integration, Ministry for environmental Protection of Ukraine, State Committee on house holding service, State Committee on Water management, Embassy of the Netherlands, Embassy of Norway, SES, water utilities, business. NGOs and science. People met to discuss problems of Ukrainian citizens' access to safe drinking water and proper sanitation conditions in the context of Millennium Development Goals — Target 10 on water and sanitation, and for experience exchange concerning development of partnership among different actors, involved into the solving of the water supply and sanitation systems problems in Ukraine. Representatives of governmental sector provided information on National Goals of Development, implementation of the Protocol on Water and Health, on State program "Drinking Water of Ukraine", and on the situation of water supply in rural areas in Ukraine. The NGOs' representatives shared their experience concerning collaboration with local authorities and other stakeholders at local and national level. There were represented some new technologies and ideas on water and sewage wastewater treatments. The points on necessity of integrated water resources management implementation and main stakeholder groups collaboration development in solving water problems were included to the final document of the seminar — resolution. The main goal of the training: "Ecological Sanitation is a New Approach to the Wastewaters management" was to represent ecological sanitation and experience on implementation of new technologies, built on its principles. To take part in the event "ÌÀÌÀ-86" invited prominent scientists- experts on eco-san: professor Petter Deinboll Jenssen from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, Arno Rosemarin from the Stockholm Environment Institute, Sweden; Stefan Deegener from the Institute of Municipal and Industrial Wastewater Management, Hamburg University of Technology, Germany. The events took part under the auspices WSSCC and "Water, sanitation and hygiene for all (WASH) in Ukraine" project, "Collaboration for sustainable rural development: water supply, ecological sanitation and organic agriculture" project of the MATRA program of the Ministry of Foreign Affaires of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and "For Sustainable development for all: ecological sanitation and wastes management" project funded by French Foundation.
