12–17 березня 2012 року у Марселі, Франція відбувся 6-й Всесвітній водний форум (ВВФ).

Environmental problems of rivers, lakes and seas, rational use of water in municipal sector, industry and energy, impact of anthropogenic activities on the state of water resources and ways of cleaning up from pollution, water impact on the human organism – this is far from the full list of all problems, which are tried to be solved by the high school students, participants in the contest “All Ukrainian Junior Water Prize”, the national part of the International Contest “Stockholm Junior Water Prize”.

This year’s topic of the International Water Day is “Water and Food Security”.

The Ministry of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services had developed a draft law “On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On Drinking Water and Water Supply” (hereinafter — daft law) for implementation of National Program of Housing and Communal Services Improving for 2009–2014.

8–10 лютого 2012р. у м. Яремче пройшов VII Міжнародний науково-практичний семінар «Ресурсозбереження та якісне водозабезпечення — стратегічний напрямок розвитку водопровідно-каналізаційного господарства України».

In the framework of the campaign “Drinking water and sanitation” the UNENGO «МАМА-86»  held a number of round tables and seminars on human rights for water and sanitation in 2011.

Since November, 8 till November, 11 2011 the IX International Water Forum AQUA UKRAINE – 2011, dedicated to the issues of water supply and water preparation took place in Kyiv.

In the framework of the 6th International water forum in Marcel (March 2012) the Third international film contest will take place. The International Secretariat for Water (ISW)* invites film directors, film producers, water experts, youth and everybody who want to express their vision of water problems to take part in this contest.

In Mumbai, India, October 9–14 the Global Forum on Sanitation and Hygiene took place for the first time. It was organized by the Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC).

21–22 вересня 2011 року у м. Стамбул відбулася Регіональна зустріч з питань санітарії та гігієни країн ЦСЄ та СЄКЦА за підтримки WSSCC — Ради зі співпраці у галузі водопостачання та санітарії та Секретаріату 5-го Всесвітнього водного Форуму (ВВФ).
