Student Republic Citizens Play Quest Dedicated to International Year of Water cooperation Print

130629-30 kyiv_water_quest_tJune 29-30, Kyiv — Within the framework of the Student Republic-2013 international program, MAMA-86 in conjunction with the United Nations in Ukraine helped students develop and carry out a water-themed quest in the context of the UN International Year of Water Cooperation.

The activities took place in the Student Republic's location on the Trukhaniv Island. During the first day's preparation for the quest, MAMA-86 Water and Sanitation Program Coordinator familiarized student with global and local issues of water, as well as cooperation to solve transboundary and local water problems. The Millennium Development Goals, post-2015 Development Agenda, water supply problems in Kyiv and other issues were also discussed.

MAMA-86 Project Coordinator Olena Skrypko and Water and Sanitation Program Assistant Natalia Chyzhmakova delivered the quest methodology developed by the GURT Resource Center for the UN Development Program in Ukraine.
