April 20, 2013, Kyiv — In order to promote environment-friendly, responsible consumption among consumers, as well as attract more partners from private sector, MAMA-86 attended an eco-fair held at the Auchan Petrivka mall and dedicated to the Earth Day.

The environmental NGO set up an exhibition stand among a number of other exhibitors, mostly producers or distributors of what is called ecological products. It turned out to be a challenge – standing in the midst of goods and showcasing noncommercial activities to people who came to the mall for shopping and were unprepared for looking at anything but goods. Nevertheless, staff of MAMA-86 made the best of the situation, presenting the NGO to other participants, informing them of the last-year Week of Eco Consumer, and inviting them to join events of the next such Week in October 2013. They also solicited Auchan customers with information on safe laundering, distributing leaflets on dangers of washing powders with a high content of phosphates and surfactants.
