The launch of this plan was announced on Dec. 12 2013. The conference has approved a composition of the working group on development of the plan.

The event has been preceded by a half of year activity initiated by the “Environment Initiatives-MAMA-86” non-government organization (NGO) in compliance with its 2013-2018 strategic working plan.

Composition of the initiative group has been approved and preliminary information campaign on the issues of garbage collection, utility services, water supplies in the residential area has been conducted as well as main directions of the plan has been adopted during a preparation period to the conference.

Members of the initiative group Tetyana Herasymova, Serhiy Zhyvoduyev and Olena Lystopad have spoken on to the residents of the residential area on the event.

Tetyana Herasymova has presented the NGO and spoke of the preliminary work conducted by the initiative group. She stressed a vision of the initiative group regarding problems of the residential area development and ways of their solution. Herasymova has announced as well phone numbers of the “hot line” aimed at receiving information from the residents.

Serhiy Zhyvoduyev, a deputy of City Council from the “Unity” residential area, has reported on the conducted work in 2013, supported a development of the Local Environment Protection Plan and reassured the gathering that he as a member of the initiative group would lobby the interests of the community on the all levels of executive and legislative powers.

He also has stressed that a working group is open to everybody who was willing to work for the better future of the community.

Olena Lystopad, Chair of the SOB “Unity”, has presented relative legislation on self-organization of residents and stressed that state created a possibility for residents to create comfortable living conditions in their residential areas on their own.
