September 28, 2013, Kyiv — The chilly weather and chances of rain did not scare off about 50 young people from participating in the eco quest co-organized by MAMA-86, the National Natural Park “Holosiyivsky,” and FSC Ukraine. The activity was carried out to support the Green Consumer Week “Environment on Your Plate” (MAMA-86) within the framework of the Global Green Action Week and the international action FSC Friday 2013.

From September 28 through October 4, 2013, MAMA-86 with support from the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation will be conducting a new campaign within its Green Consumer Week series. This year's Week – "Environment on Your Plate" – will focus on environmentally responsible, or sustainable, food. By that we mean behavior of a person who – when buying and consuming food – not only satisfies his or her demand for healthy and tasty food but also tries to minimize the damage to environment and cares that the next generations will also have ample healthy and tasty foods, clear water, green grass, and blue sky.

August 20, 2013, Kyiv — The Ecological Debt Day, also known as Earth Overshoot Day, in 2013 fell on August 20. This means that as of this date, according to approximate calculations, the humanity "by a joint effort" has exhausted the planet's annual biological capacity to renew its natural resources, absorb man-made wastes, and sequestrate greenhouse gases. From this day on until the end of the year, we will live with an "overdraft" – further draining the stock accumulated by nature all over its history and accumulating carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

July 12-13, 2013, Irpin, Kyiv Oblast — A forum of environmental civil society organizations (CSOs) on "Building Environmental Democracy in Ukraine: Challenges and Tasks for Environmental Civil Society" was held to facilitate coordination of CSOs’ efforts and enhance their capacity to participate in environmental policy development, implementation and assessment. The two-day event included an overview of the current state of public participation and relevant European Union's support programs, assessment of CSOs needs, exchange of good practices, discussions, training and networking, as well as drafting appeals to public authorities on most pressing environmental policy problems and planning feasible further joint actions to solve them.

The news conference was given by two project co-coordinators, Resource and Analytical Center "Society and Environment" Head of the Board Nataliya Andrusevych and MAMA-86 Executive Director Zoriana Mishchuk, who is also a coordinator of the Eastern Partnership (EaP) Civil Society Forum (CSF) National Platform's Working Group 3, as well as European ECO Forum expert Serhiy Vykhryst.
