The Protocol on Water and Health stipulates that “equitable access to water and sanitation, adequate in both quantity and quality, should be provided for all members of the population, especially those who suffer a disadvantage or social exclusion”. At the same time, “special consideration should be given to the protection of people who are particularly vulnerable to water-related diseases”.

This publication presents good practices and lessons learned from throughout the pan-European region on the policies and measures to be enacted to provide equitable access to water and sanitation.

The preparation of the publication was supported by the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Health of France. The text of the publication (English) and the Brochure (English and Russian) are available on UNECE website.
