That is the new project, which was recently launched at the territory of the Carpathian National Reservation Park within the Antirecessionary Humanitarian Program of the International Fund “Renaissance” “For Life in Clean Environment!”.

The project organizers are the UNENGO “MAMA-86-Yaremche”, Mykulychyn Village Council, and the Charity Fund “Carpathian Charity”. The project realization will involve the territorial community of Mykulychyn village, employees of the Carpathian National Reserve, the municipal enterprise “Blagoustriy”, representatives of the City Department of Youth and Education of Yaremche and volunteers.

The first demonstration platform for solid waste sorting in Yaremche, placed not far from the Ecotourism visiting centre and the head office of the Carpathian National Nature Park, had played its key eco-educational role. Besides, it was established thanks to the International Renaissance Foundation and the NGO “Association of Ivano-Frankivsk Region Development”. Key meetings with the local authorities and communities were repeatedly held in the visiting centre. The first initiator of improvement of waste management through sorting wastes was the local community of Mykulychyn village. Mykulychyn is the biggest village in this area, famous for its well-known people and unique nature. This year it celebrates its 600 years anniversary.

In cooperation with the UNENGO “MAMA-86-Yaremche” the local authorities had approved the program of Mykulychyn village sanitary state improving for the period from 2012 to 2020, which provides activities for infrastructure development for waste sorting.

In the framework of the project 5 platforms for separate solid waste collection will be constructed. Their construction will be financed by the local authorities and the Charity Fund “Carpathian Charity”. Traditionally, the Carpathian National Nature Park will pay attention to the educational activities among all community groups and youth especially.

On February, 27 the meeting of project participants with a detailed discussion of agenda and duties was held.

The key expected result of the project is improving of Mykulychyn sanitary state, strengthening partnership of community-business-authority, raising awareness and social role of citizens in environment protection, youth involvement into solving environmental problems and strengthening its role as the link between trainers and parents to form the high environmental culture in everyday life.
