Representatives of “MAMA-86” took part in the V International scientific-working conference “Modern technologies of minimization of energy consuming. Renewable energy sources. Ecological and economic aspects of the passive construction” and exhibition “Comfort-2011” that took place on 25–25 February 2011 in city Lviv.

Organizers — Lviv Chamber of Commerce, publishers “EKOinform”, NGO “Institute of passive construction” with support of the Heinrich Böll Foundation’s in Ukraine.

The conference participants discussed ways to reduce energy consumption and to minimize water consumption, modern energy efficient technologies, eco-construction, and, of course, the “passive house”.

NGO “MAMA-86” presented poster at the booth of NGO “Institute of passive construction” about ecosanitation technologies and experience of “MAMA-86” in implementation of these technologies in Ukraine within the framework of recent projects “Safe Sanitation, Health and Dignity” (SSHD) and “Empowerment and Local Actions” (ELA). NGO’s “MAMA-86” publications about ecological sanitation, dry toilets, composting, advise materials on construction of ecotoilets and local waste water cleaning facilities were presented as well at the booth.

NGO “MAMA-86” representative Ganna Tsvetkova presented during the conference report about advantages of ecosanitation technologies in comparison with traditional sanitation practices and practical experience on the construction of ecosan toilets and local waste water facilities in Ukraine.

The conference was also attended by representatives of the Polish “Institute of passive construction” (Bremen, Germany), “IG passive house” (Innsbruck, Austria), “Institute of passive house in Russia” (Moscow), scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Lviv Polytechnic, Lviv State Agrarian University, Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and other educational institutions from Dnipropetrovsk, Vinnytsya, Uman and Kiev, NGOs.
