MAMA-86-Yaremche Receives Second Place Award of Clear Springs Contest |

April 24, 2013, Kyiv — MAMA-86-Yaremche from the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast received the second place award it had won at the All-Ukrainian Contest "To Clear Springs" in 2012. The award ceremony was held within the framework of the International Ecological Forum "Environment for Ukraine."

The NGO won the award in the category Civil Society Institutions for its awareness raising campaign called "Say No to Phosphates in Water!"
"To Clear Springs" is an annual contest initiated by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine in 2001. The contest goal is to "involve the public at large in practical environmental activities aimed at protecting and improving the condition of springs, rivers and water basins in Ukraine, using water sustainably, and raising the environmental and legal awareness of citizens on protection of water resources by developing civil society ecological initiatives," according to the Ministry’s order #407 dated Aug. 16, 2012.
